The Greeley Fire Department, when required, utilizes Knox Boxes to remove barriers to entry and allow safe access to responding Greeley Fire Department personnel during emergencies. Access to Knox Boxes by the Greeley Fire Department are restricted to emergency response and customer requests to update keys and emergency information stored in the Knox Box. 

New/changing Knox Box locations will need to be approved by the Greeley Fire Department. The Greeley Fire Department requires the Knox Box to be:

  • Placed be between five to six feet above grade
  • Placed within unobstructed view of the street
  • Placed by the most easily-accessible entrance (usually the front door).
