Knox Box Information

The Greeley Fire Department, when required, utilizes Knox Boxes to remove barriers to entry and allow safe access to responding Greeley Fire Department personnel during emergencies. Access to Knox Boxes by the Greeley Fire Department are restricted to emergency response and customer requests to update keys and emergency information stored in the Knox Box. 

New/changing Knox Box locations will need to be approved by the Greeley Fire Department. The Greeley Fire Department requires the Knox Box to be:

  • Placed be between five to six feet above grade
  • Placed within unobstructed view of the street
  • Placed by the most easily-accessible entrance (usually the front door).

Knox Boxes must be purchased through the Knox Company website, found here. 

To ensure that you are purchasing a product compatible with the Greeley Fire Department, click “buy” and please select your location to be “Colorado” and local fire department/agency to “Greeley Fire Department.” This will allow you to shop for products compatible with our department.
