Pro/Con Statements
Pro – Repeals Ordinance 30, 2025
- Voting yes will revert the 834-acre property, located at US Highway 34 and east of Weld County Road 17, which is known as Cascadia,Catalyst or West Greeley, to the zoning that existed prior to the passage of Ordinance 30, 2025. For a portion of the property this will be Holding Agriculture (HA) zoning.
- Pauses any building on the Catalyst and Cascadia property. HA zoning designation limits what can occur on the property.
- Allows voters to determine whether the zoning established by Council for the Catalyst and Cascadia property should be repealed.
Con – Upholds Ordinance 30, 2025
- Voting no maintains the Planned Unit Development (PUD) zoning approved by City Council to create a master-planned community.
- Supports economic development, job creation, and new amenities in West Greeley.
- Avoids delays, uncertainty, and potential legal or financial impacts tied to repealing the zoning established by City Council.
