Moriya, Japan Student Program

Did you know the City of Greeley and Moriya, Japan, have been celebrating and fostering a Sister City relationship for more than 20 years? Every odd year summer the City of Greeley sponsors approximately ten high school students to visit Moriya, Japan, as part of a student exchange. During even years, Greeley students host Moriya students.  The program has been on pause since 2020 and the Covid19 Pandemic, but in 2026, the program returns to Greeley as a host city.

The Sister City Student Exchange Program is a wonderful opportunity for students from both cities to explore each other's country and learn more about their cultures, traditions, and way of life.

Get Involved

We are now seeking twelve (12) host families to welcome ten (10) students and two (2) adult chaperones into their homes during their stay. Hosting is a rewarding way to:

  • Share your family’s traditions and everyday life with a student from Japan.

  • Provide a welcoming home and meals outside of the daily Sister City program activities.

  • Build lifelong friendships that continue across cultures and continents.

Application deadline: December 1, 2025 at 5:00 PM
