General Ridership Policies for Fixed Route Service
GET has established the following general ridership policies to ensure safe and reliable fixed route service:
- Passengers using oxygen must have portable oxygen tanks that they can carry onto the vehicle.
- For passengers using wheelchairs, oxygen tanks must be securely attached to the wheelchair.
- Once onboard, portable oxygen tanks must be stored in a secure location, such as:
- On the passenger’s lap
- On the floor in front of the passenger between the seats
- On the floor behind the modesty panel
- Child restraints must be used while in a stroller onboard.
- Strollers, small grocery carts, and walkers must be able to fit in a wheelchair secured area out of the aisle.
- Passengers may bring up to the equivalent of four grocery bags, and must be able to carry them independently.
- Large items, including furniture or similar bulky objects, are not permitted.
- Textile items must be in secure bags (blankets, clothing, bedding, etc.).
- In the event of extreme weather conditions that make travel unsafe, GET may cancel service. Service cancellations are made public through local media, Facebook, Twitter, Route shout, and the City of Greeley website.
Riders’ Code of Conduct
As a rider on the GET system, I agree to:
- Always wear a shirt and shoes
- Have exact change ready, as the driver cannot make change
- Refrain from smoking, vaping, eating, or drinking on the bus and having all drinks and food contained in spill-proof containers.
- Use electronic devices, such as a radio, iPods, or cell phone, only with headphones if the sound is not audible to others.
- Not distract the driver and stay behind the yellow line while the bus is in motion
- Yield the seats in front of the vehicle for senior and disabled customers
- Animals other than dogs are not allowed on the coach unless they are in a container or carrier.
- Do notbring weapons onboard (firearms, replicas/imitation firearms, BB/pellet guns, compressed air guns, stun guns, tasers, tear gas/chemical irritants, hand grenades/real or replica, undetectable knives or switchblades, explosives or flammable materials.
- There is designated seating for seniors and disabled customers. You may be asked to move if those seats are needed.
- Stay clear of doorways and stairways
- Refrain from fighting, using vulgar language, offensive or abusive language, pushing, shouting, or participating in rough behavior
- Children should always be secured in a scroller while on the coach
- Remain seated while the vehicle is in motion
- Keep feet off the seats, off the back of the seats, and off the bus walls
- Refrain from loitering, soliciting contributions, or distributing material on CTP properties
- Do not hang out, reach out, or put anything out of the coach's windows
- Do not occupy more than one seat
- Keep conversations between riders or on cell phones to a reasonable volume
- Respect the instructions of the coach operator regarding the vehicle’s operation
- Do not interfere with the safe operation of the bus
- Keep aisle clear of grocery bags or other packages
- Do not bring gasoline cans, car batteries, or gas-powered bikes.
- Dollies, utility wagons, grocery store shopping carts, and grocery scooters are not allowed on the coach
- Jogging strollers, tricycles, and bikes with missing tires are not allowed on the coach
- Toddler-sized bikes and scooters are allowed on the coach
- Foldable grocery carts are allowed in the coach; the items in the cart cannot exceed the top of the frame
- Scooters (electric and regular) and foldable bikes are allowed on the coach if they can fold.
Useful Information
- Please have exact fare when boarding, drivers cannot make change
- Request a transfer when you board, transfers are good for 1 hour and can't be used to transfer onto the same number route
- Signal to exit the bus a block or two from your destination by pulling the cord above the window
- GET is not responsible for lost, stolen or counterfeit bus passes
