Code of Conduct
An Enjoyable Experience for Everyone
The following Patron Code of Conduct sets forth expectations for behavior at Union Colony Civic Center (UCCC) events and facilities. All patrons, by attending or accessing the premises, agree to abide by these guidelines to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all patrons, staff, and performers.
By entering UCCC and participating in events, all patrons agree to adhere to the guidelines of this Code of Conduct. UCCC reserves the right to take the following actions in response to violations of this Code of Conduct:
- Staff may ask patrons exhibiting inappropriate behavior to cease the disruptive behavior and/or to leave the facility voluntarily.
- Patrons who refuse to comply with the Code of Conduct may be required to leave the facility immediately. Non-compliance may result in arrest, prosecution, or a temporary or permanent ban from UCCC events and facilities.
- UCCC staff, volunteers, or law enforcement may deny entry or remove any individual or group of individuals if they are violating the Code of Conduct or if they are reasonably believed to present a risk of doing so.
- In serious cases, violations of the Code of Conduct may lead to arrest, prosecution, and potential legal action.
General Expectations
Respectful Behavior
- Patrons are expected to demonstrate respect for all individuals regardless of their ethnicity, gender, race, sexuality, age, disability, or religion.
- Behave civilly and responsibly, expressing restraint and respect for others at all times.
- Cooperate with UCCC staff, volunteers, law enforcement, and other officials to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all patrons.
- Exhibit care and concern for the safety and well-being of others, fostering a sense of community goodwill and citizenship.
Health, Safety, and Well-being
- Patrons must comply with all health and safety regulations, including public health mandates (e.g., mask-wearing, social distancing, etc.).
- Patrons should immediately report any medical or safety emergencies to UCCC staff or security personnel.
Additional Expectations
Children and Supervision
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on UCCC premises. Patrons should ensure that children are under supervision and exhibit appropriate behavior in the venue.
Behavioral Expectations
Patrons should express and practice civil behaviors that exemplify respect, restraint, and responsibility.
Disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. This includes any conduct that interferes with the use or enjoyment of the facility by other patrons or disrupts the functioning of UCCC staff, volunteers, or law enforcement.
Inappropriate Behavior
The following behaviors are considered inappropriate and may result in temporary or permanent loss of access to the facility, or other remedies as outlined below:
Abuse or Harassment
Abuse, harassment, or threatening behavior toward others, including loud, abusive, insulting language or gestures, will not be tolerated. This includes any conduct that can be perceived as intimidating, harassing, or threatening.
Illegal Activities
Engaging in any activity or behavior that is prohibited by law, UCCC policies, or facility rules is prohibited.
The use, possession, or sale of drugs, drug paraphernalia, tobacco, tobacco products, or alcohol (unless in designated areas and in accordance with applicable laws) is strictly prohibited.
Disruptive or Unsafe Conduct
Any conduct that disrupts the use or enjoyment of the facility by others or interferes with staff or volunteer duties is prohibited.
Engaging in activities that result in harm or injury to others, including patrons, staff, volunteers, or performers, is prohibited.
Improper Use of Facilities
The improper use of restrooms, including but not limited to personal bathing, using restrooms for laundry, or sleeping, is prohibited.
Patrons are prohibited from engaging in soliciting the sale of any merchandise or services without prior consent from UCCC staff.
Loitering and Lingering
Patrons should not linger or loiter in the facility for protracted periods without a legitimate purpose.
Disruptive Viewing
Viewing or engaging in the display of inappropriate or offensive material, such as pornography, is prohibited.
Damage to Property
Patrons must respect the property of the Union Colony Civic Center and its staff. Damaging or vandalizing the venue, its equipment, or any patron’s personal property will result in immediate removal and potential legal action.
