Public Art
The City of Greeley embraces artistic expression and encourages public art as a way of celebrating our community's vibrant cultural diversity.
The Greeley Art Commission
The Greeley Art Commission oversees the Public Art program and assists in discovering art that reflects the broad range of social, cultural and historic values that define Greeley.
The commission is guided by the Art Master Plan for Greeley, which guides and supports the integration of art that contributes to Greeley’s identity.
The art commission recognizes the importance of art forms in public places. The Public Art collection consists of more than 350 works of rotating indoor art, and more than 220 pieces of outdoor art. The collection is continually updated with new artwork as the art commission purchases several pieces of art annually.

Call for Artists
The opportunities for artists in Greeley include exhibits at the Tointon Gallery and various public art projects that share beautiful visual art across the city. The city often calls for artist submissions.
Visit the Tointon Gallery
As the only city-run gallery in Greeley, the Tointon Gallery provides community members with opportunities to experience the visual arts; enjoyment and education from thought provoking discussion; and an enhanced quality of life as the result of its contributions to the city's thriving arts community.
The gallery features up to 12 different exhibits each year — with opportunities to meet and ask questions of the artists — and participates in the monthly, city-wide First Friday Art Event.
The gallery is located inside the Greeley Recreation Center complex at 651 10th Ave, and is open Monday – Friday 9:00a.m. - 5p.m., Saturday 9:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. and during most UCCC performances.

One Percent for Art
The City of Greeley boasts more than 220 memorable, thought-provoking, and enduring art projects on display. In 1998, the city adopted a 1% for Art Program, which sets aside one percent of the cost of new capital improvement projects as funds for acquiring, maintaining and commissioning art.

Call for Artists
As part of the City of Greeley’s 1% for Art Program, we are seeking artist proposals for the Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility.
The selected artist will be responsible for developing a work of public art that will showcase one or more of the Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility processes; for example, cleaning water to be put back into river, the use of microbiology, etc. The finished sculpture should be eye-catching to improve visibility from the street view.
For more information or to apply visit CaFÉ, or email Public Art Coordinator, Kim Snyder.
