Join the Team: Be a Greeley Firefighter

The Greeley Fire Department provides service 24 hours per day, seven days a week and protects a total of 64.5 square miles. In addition to responding to requests for assistance, firefighters are also involved in public education, stand-by duties requiring first aid or fire watches, and maintenance. We protect lives and property through activities associated with fire prevention, rescue, firefighting, hazardous materials and emergency medical incidents.

Position Details

  • 21 or older;
  • Current Colorado or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) and Paramedic (EMT-P) certification at the time of job offer and must maintain certification throughout position at GFD;
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record;
  • High school diploma or GED;
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
  • Skill in communicating effectively; orally and in writing, using tact and diplomacy;
  • Skill in recording information accurately;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude;
  • Upon hire, required to work either a 48-hour shift schedule or an 8 hour/day/40 hours per week schedule at the determination of the Chief.
