GreeleyCO.gov, a New Website Built for You

Welcome to the new City of Greeley website. We are currently in a soft launch and are continuing to improve the upgraded site. Thank you for your patience as we work through the final stages of development.

Does everyone in your home know how to escape in case of a fire?

In some cases, you may have as little as 2 minutes to escape a house once a fire has started. Design a home fire escape plan to help prepare for a fast response. It is recommended that all homeowners design and practice a home fire escape plan with everyone in the home at least twice a year. Walk through your home and inspect all possible exits and escape routes. On your escape plan, mark two ways out of each room, including windows and doors. Also, mark the location of each smoke alarm. Practice how to escape from all the rooms, even those not normally used. When you practice, crawl on the ground and pretend there’s smoke in the house to help you find the best ways to get out, no matter the conditions.
