Kyle Peltz, PIO Greeley Police Department (970) 350-9661, Desk kyle.peltz@greeleypd.com Homicide Investigation GREELEY, Colo. – On Thursday, December 8, 2022, at approximately 5:12 p.m., Greeley Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 900 block of 4th Avenue. As officers were responding to the scene, a 26-year-old male, Andrew Sweatt stated he shot his mother. Officers arrived on scene and took Sweatt into custody as other officers entered the residence and located an unresponsive 50-year-old female. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim will be released by the Weld County Coroner at a later date and time. Sweatt was booked into the Weld County Jail on charges of Murder in the First Degree. This is an active investigation. No additional information will be released today.
