Shooting Kills 21-Year-Old Woman in Greeley
GREELEY, Colo. – On Monday, November 28, 2022, at 3:42 a.m., the Weld County Regional Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the 1100 block of East 24th Street Lane. Responding officers briefly pursued a suspect vehicle, which eluded them. The fleeing vehicle was soon found abandoned in the 500 block of 18th Street. Officers detained one occupant who fled from the vehicle. They were arrested on warrants out of Larimer County, Colorado. Simultaneously, other officers responding to the 1100 block of East 24th Street Lane found a female who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as twenty-one-year-old Herminia Marquez. If you have home surveillance cameras, we are asking that you please check them for any suspicious activity that occurred between 3:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022.
