Double shooting in Greeley leaves one dead and one on life support
GREELEY, Colo. – On Monday, March 28, 2022, at approximately 8:51 a.m., Greeley Police officers were dispatched to a 911 call reporting several gunshots being fired in the alley behind 1429 9th Street and at a vehicle. The caller also advised there was a male down in the alley and a male suspect running from the shooting scene. Patrol officers arrived on scene quickly and located an unresponsive 17-year-old male laying in the alley with a gunshot wound to the head. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital where he remains on life-support. While officers were continuing to check the scene around the first victim’s location, they found a second shooting victim in the driver’s seat of a nearby parked car. That 47-year-old male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Greeley Police officers and detectives have been working the investigation continuously since the original call was received and have developed probable cause to charge the suspect. The suspect was later identified as Paul Anthony Delgado Jr., 42. Investigators were granted an arrest warrant for Delgado for 1st Degree Murder. Delgado should be considered armed with at least one handgun that he open carries, as well as a rifle and ammunition. He is believed to be driving a dark blue 2012 Dodge Ram with Colorado Disabled Veteran license plate 237-NWL. If you see him, or his vehicle, immediately call 911 and do not approach him. No additional information will be released today. If you have any information on this case and have not been interviewed by officers, please contact Detective Cash at 970-350-9601.
