Suspect Arrested in Overnight Shooting Homicide
GREELEY, Colo. – On Thursday, September 19, at approximately 2:07 AM, Greeley Police Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2700 block of C Street on a report of a shooting that had just occurred. The suspect, later identified as Haven Ramirez, 21, fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Officers arrived shortly after and found an adult male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. They began preforming life-saving measures on the victim while summoning medical units. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Greeley Police Gang Unit Detectives, Persons Unit Detectives, and the Major Crimes Evidence Technicians also responded to the scene. Earlier this afternoon, detectives located Ramirez and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Weld County Jail and booked on charges of Murder in the First Degree and two counts of Felony Menacing. The identity of the victim will be released at a later time pending next-of-kin notifications by the Weld County Coroner. No further information will be released today.
