Sunday Morning Shooting Claims the Life of 24-Year-Old Greeley Woman
GREELEY, Colo. – On Sunday, December 8, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Greeley Police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of 9th Avenue on reports of a shooting. Officers entered the residence and found a 24-year-old female, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers summoned EMS units while providing life saving measures to the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The suspect in this case was identified as Gabriel Esparza, 23. He was booked into the Weld County Jail on charges of First-Degree Murder, Possession of a Weapon by Previous Offender and Domestic Violence. All charges are merely an accusation, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
