Juvenile Killed in Saturday Morning Traffic Accident

GREELEY, Colo. –  On Saturday, January 25, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Greeley Police officers responded to a traffic accident at Weld County Road 47 and east 8th Street. The initial investigation reveals that a 24-year-old, driving a Ford SUV pulled in front of a semi-truck, causing the semi to broadside the passenger side of the SUV. The passenger, a 16-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital where he is being treated. The driver of the semi was not injured. We are asking anyone with information on this case to contact Officer Ashton Steely at 970-473-4944 or Ashton.steely@greeleypd.com. This is an ongoing investigation and charges for the drivers have not yet been filed. No further information will be released today.
