June 21, 2025Coroner releases identity of Weld County Jail in-custody death
This Press Release is being distributed on behalf of the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). [Greeley, Colo.] – The Weld County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the man who died while in custody at the Weld County Jail. On June 20, 2025, at 1:43 p.m. the Weld County Sheriff’s Office detentions deputies found a 52-year-old Trinidad Nunez, Jr., suffering from what appeared to be a medical episode. Deputies administered CPR and requested medical staff to respond as well as paramedics. Nunez was pronounced deceased. The Critical Incident Response Team responded to investigate. This is an active investigation, and no further information will be released until the conclusion of the investigation. All media inquiries will be handled by the CIRT Public Information Officer.
