GREELEY, Colo. — Haley Madsen, a Greeley Ice Haus figure skater, recently qualified for the US Figure Skating 2025 Excel Series National Final and Festival in Colorado Springs. Held at the Broadmoor World Arena on July 9-14, the event is for top skaters. 

 

Madsen has been training at the Ice Haus for the past three years. “She has perfected her skills in private lessons with her Coach, Sarah Bott. Madsen qualified by finishing 14th in the Midwest. She is currently ranked 26th in the nation,” said Shawna Ludy, Ice Haus Figure Skating Coordinator. 

 

Queenie Zheng and Ziva Leroy also completed the qualifying section. Other Greeley Ice Haus figure skaters competing at the event are Aubrey Frezza, Sophie Pletcher, Claire Newman, Abby Nelson, Alyssa Barrett, Makayla Darnell and Samantha Taylor. 

 

The Greeley Ice Haus offers a Basic Skills Learn to Skate program for ages three and older. Skaters can register for the Learn to Compete Class and Winter Ice Show to perform. Registration opens August 1. Students interested in competing can join the Mountain View Skating Club. The Club’s home rink is the Greeley Ice Haus.
