GREELEY, CO – Greeley has taken a step toward hiring a new city manager, with the job posting going live last week.  The webpage for Greeley’s nation-wide City Manager search, including the recruitment process, is now live at https://greeleyco.gov/government/careers/city-manager-recruitment.

“The successful candidate will lead a diverse municipal organization with a strong commitment to transparency, inclusion, community engagement, and service excellence, while translating Council priorities into measurable results,” the posting reads.

The City Manager carries out the goals set by City Council. They lead city departments and help make sure city services are run well, openly, and in a way that responds to community needs.

A Strong and Thoughtful Screening Process

City Council is leading the search in partnership with national recruiter MGT and a diverse screening committee. The committee's role is to carefully review applications, evaluate qualifications and recommend the strongest candidates to City Council for further consideration.

The Screening Committee brings perspectives from across the organization and the community, combining professional expertise, operational insight and local viewpoints. Members of the Screening Committee include:

“Greeley is growing, and we need a City Manager who is ready to lead us into the future,” said Mayor Dale Hall. “This committee helps us take a close look at candidates so we can find someone who understands both the challenges and opportunities ahead for our community.” 

Timeline and Next Steps

The city remains on track to appoint a new City Manager in May or early summer 2026. Opportunities to get involved in this process will be shared at a later date and will be listed on the recruitment webpage.
