Greeley Police Report Sharp Decline in Crime Rates for 2025

GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley and Greeley Police Department are pleased to announce a significant double-digit decrease in both violent and property crimes throughout 2025.

According to the latest department data, violent crime rates dropped by 27%, with a total of 626 reported in 2025 as compared to 2024. Violent crimes include reports of murder, rape, aggravated assault, and robbery.

Property crimes also saw a substantial decline. Reports of arson, burglary, theft and motor vehicle theft dropped 18%, with a total of 3,254 reported incidents over the course of the year compared to 3,990 incidents in 2024.

In addition to the drop in reported incidents, the Greeley Police Department saw improved performance in solving crimes. Clearance rates—the rate at which reported crimes are closed by arrest or other means—increased across seven of the eight major crime categories. Most notably, the department achieved a 135% increase in arson clearances, reflecting a rigorous commitment to investigating and resolving complex cases.

"Our department remains steadfast in our commitment to reducing crime and enhancing the quality of life for every resident,” said Greeley Police Chief Adam Turk. “This decrease in crime is a direct result of our mission of proudly working with the citizens to protect our community. I am incredibly proud of our officers, detectives, and support staff; their tireless dedication to solving crimes and serving with integrity is what makes these results possible."

These year-end statistics highlight a safer community and reflect a broader positive trend in public safety across the state of Colorado. The Greeley Police Department remains committed to maintaining this momentum through 2026 by prioritizing proactive policing and community engagement.
