Greeley Police Charge Student For Threats Against Greeley West High School

GREELEY, Colo. — A student faces charges following threats directed at a teacher and principal at Greeley West High School.

The investigation began Monday, Jan. 12, after school administrators alerted Greeley Police to the situation.

Based on preliminary findings, the threat was initially reported by a student who overheard the remarks. This was followed by multiple Safe2Tell reports alleging a potential shooting scheduled for Jan. 13.

After conducting several interviews, Greeley Police charged a 14-year-old student with interference with an educational institution. Police confirm that the student does not have access to firearms. Authorities are withholding the student’s name in accordance with juvenile privacy laws.

District 6 reported the student was not on campus today and will face school disciplinary actions.

While the investigation remains active, officials remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The safety of our students and staff is the top priority for both District 6 and the Greeley Police Department. We remain committed to a safe learning environment and investigate all potential threats thoroughly and immediately. Anyone with information on these threats is encouraged to contact Sgt. Kevin Clarey at Kevin.Clarey@greeleypd.com.

No further details will be released today.
