Arrest Made in 2023 Murder

GREELEY, Colo. — A suspect has been arrested in the connection with the 2023 murder of Eduvina “Duvie” Maldonado.

In the early morning hours of December 11, 2023, Ms. Maldonado, 47, was found deceased in the passenger compartment of a vehicle after a 911 call was received about her well-being.

Greeley Police Detectives were called to the scene and took over the investigation. In December of 2025, an Arrest Warrant was obtained for the arrest of Raul Chavarria, 42, for his involvement in the murder.

On January 14, 2026, Raul Chavarria was located, arrested and booked into the Weld County Detention Center, where he is currently being held.
