Greeley Police Arrest Two After Vehicle Eludes Officers and Crashes
GREELEY, Colo. — On Thursday, September 24, 2026, at approximately 2:50pm, Greeley Police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Honda CRV carrying known wanted fugitive, Cyrillo Espinoza, 20.
When an officer activated emergency lights and sirens, the driver, identified as 21-year-old Ethan Liess, fled at a high rate of speed, driving recklessly through a residential neighborhood. To minimize danger to the public, pursuing officers disengaged and utilized a Real Time Information Center drone to safely track the suspect vehicle.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 1400 block alleyway between 8th and 9th Street. Liess and Espinoza then fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood. Officers quickly surrounded the area and took both suspects into custody without further incident.
The suspects were transported to the Weld County Jail. Liess was booked on multiple charges, including vehicular eluding, reckless endangerment and driving with a suspended license. Espinoza was booked on charges including obstructing a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, and multiple previous warrants.
Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact Detective Max Moree at Max.Moree@greeleypd.com. This is an ongoing investigation, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty. No further details will be released today.
