A multi-story playground feature with a slide stands prominently above a play space

The centerpiece of the new Twin Rivers playground is the Volo Aire tower, an accessible play feature that challenges children of all abilities.

GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley celebrates the debut of a new playground at Twin Rivers Community Park. The City will host a ribbon-cutting event on Wednesday, October 28, from 4 to 6 p.m.

The project upgraded and enlarged the existing playground. The inclusive play area now provides fun for children of all ages and abilities. The playground complements other high-quality amenities at Twin Rivers Community Park.

Community input helped shape the new playground. Public surveys and focus groups provided valuable feedback. This input guided the site design and the selection of inclusive play features, such as:

  • Accessible play equipment
  • Braille signs
  • A visual communication board, and
  • Anti-static turf

The playground also features "RightHear" technology, which helps visitors with hearing-related needs. Twin Rivers is the first playground in Colorado to feature the technology.

“We totally reimagined the play area at Twin Rivers," said project lead Susan Murray. "We wanted to create an exciting destination that the community could really embrace. And ultimately, we developed a truly unique space that sets a new standard for our playgrounds.”

The City thanks residents who shared ideas and supported the project during construction. The October 28 event will include music, giveaways, and the chance to enjoy the new playground.
