GREELEY, Colo. — Gallop, formerly Greeley-Evans Transit (GET), is offering free bus rides October 1-8. The free fares are in honor of National Week Without Driving.

National Week Without Driving highlights the challenges people face when they don’t have access to a car. About 36 percent of people in the U.S. don’t drive, including older adults, people with disabilities and people who can’t afford a vehicle.

“For many people, driving isn’t an option. National Week Without Driving gives everyone a chance to experience a different way of getting around our community,” Michelle Johnson, Mobility Manager with the City of Greeley, said. “If you’ve never taken the bus, this is a great time to try Gallop for free and see if public transit works for your everyday trips.”

How to Participate

The City of Greeley invites residents to reduce or eliminate driving for a week. There are many ways to participate.

  • Take Gallop public transit for free October 1-8.
  • Walk, bike, or scoot around town.
  • Carpool or ask friends, family, or community members for rides.
