Free HOA Workshop: Common Elements and Problematic Maintenance

GREELEY, Colo. — The 2026 series of Homeowner Association (HOA) workshops continues with a workshop September 3.

“Associations' Duties, Rights and Limitations on Managing the Common Elements & Problematic Maintenance Scenarios,” will cover the authority and limits of HOA boards when managing common elements. Topics include whether boards can sell common areas or close them for extended periods.

Presenters also will discuss maintenance situations that may seem straightforward but can create legal challenges, such as determining responsibility for repairs to leaking pipes or landscaping issues.

The workshop will be led by Amanda Ashley and Jenny Shamoon of Altitude Community Law. Both specialize in HOA law and administration and will share practical guidance for addressing these issues at the board level.

All workshops are from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Greeley Family FunPlex, 1501 65th Avenue. Light refreshments will be provided.
