Month-long celebration highlighting the impact of parks and recreation
Rootbeer Richie will be the headliner band at Arts Picnic/Culture Pop on July 25 in the UCCC parking lot. Live music will start at 6 p.m. with Rootbeer Richie taking the stage at 8 p.m.
GREELEY, Colo. — Join the City of Greeley Culture, Parks and Recreation Department (CPRD) this July for Park and Recreation Month. Celebrate how parks and recreation make Greeley a stronger, more connected community.
July Activities
Greeley invites our community to make memories together during Park and Recreation Month. An initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). By exploring parks, trails, natural areas and local programs, there are many ways to join the fun!
- Summer Concert Series at the FunPlex amphitheater: July 2, 9, 16 and 23
- Open Weekends at Centennial Village Museum: July 4/5 (for Stampede ticket holders only), 11/12, 18/19 and 25/26
- History Colorado Hands-On History Camp: July 6-10, July 20-31
- Culture Pop Weekend (concerts, speakers and Arts Picnic at Lincoln Park): July 24-26
- America 250 / Colorado 150: August 1 at Bittersweet Park
- Centennial Celebration: Centennial Village Museum Celebrates 50 years: August 1
- Completion of the Swanson-Kiwanis Park playground refresh, basketball court and extra trees
Parks and Recreation Month
For more than 40 years, the United States has celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July. Parks and recreation help build strong, vibrant and resilient communities. This month also honors more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals nationwide. As well as thousands of part-time staff and volunteers across the country.
This year’s theme, “The Power Of…Play, Community, Nature and Belonging” celebrates how parks and recreation bring us together.
