City of Greeley Names Finalist for City Manager Position
GREELEY, Colo. – Greeley City Council approved a resolution naming Acting City Manager Brian McBroom as a finalist for the City Manager position during the April 21 council meeting.
In December 2025, the city worked with a professional recruiting firm to launch a nationwide search. A Screening Committee made up of Council members, staff and community partners reviewed several candidates. City Council interviewed those candidates in March 2026 but did not move any forward. The search then paused as the city focused on major projects and budget planning.
The city reposted the City Manager position on April 10 for both internal and external applications.
“Council took a step back and looked at what our city needs right now," said Mayor Dale Hall. "We have an experienced leader currently guiding this work and this selection allows us to maintain stability while making thoughtful, long-term decisions for our community.”
McBroom has served as Acting City Manager since November 2025. In this role, he is responsible for leading the organization and maintaining daily operations. His experience has given Council direct insight into his leadership and approach.
Next steps include a May 5 City Council meeting, where Council is expected to vote on a resolution to appoint McBroom to the City Manager position and hold a first reading of an ordinance to set salary and benefits. A second reading of that ordinance is scheduled for May 19.
