GREELEY, CO – City Council has decided to pause the City Manager hiring process. After interviewing candidates, council chose not to move forward at this time. Brian McBroom will continue serving as Acting City Manager.

Council said the pause comes as the city works through several priorities. These include major projects already underway and planning for the first round of the 2027 budget. Council members believe steady leadership will keep that work on track.

“Council chose to pause the process to be intentional about next steps while keeping things steady for our community and the organization,” said Mayor Dale Hall. “We are confident in Brian’s leadership and the progress being made on city priorities.”

McBroom has filled the top administrative role since November 2025.

“City staff is doing tremendous work on behalf of the community,” said Acting City Manager Brian McBroom. City Council will revisit the city manager search later this year, until then, McBroom stated, “I am honored to have the opportunity to continue leading the city staff at this time. My focus remains on maintaining momentum on key projects, supporting council priorities, and ensuring the city continues delivering high-quality services for our residents.”

The Screening Committee has been notified of councils’ decision. To learn more about City Council priorities, visit: https://greeleyco.gov/government/city-administration/city-manager/greeley-strategic-performance.
