Two red firetrucks park near a training structure

GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley will hold a Push-In Wet-Down ceremony and open house on Tuesday, March 24, from 3-4 p.m. at Fire Station #1 (1155 10th Avenue) to welcome two new fire trucks.

The ceremony is a long-standing fire service tradition dating back to the 1800s, when crews unhooked horses, pushed equipment into the station by hand, and washed it before putting it away — showing pride, respect and teamwork. Today, the ceremony continues as a symbolic way to place new apparatus into service and celebrate with the community.

Residents can meet firefighters, see the new trucks and learn how these new resources will help keep Greeley safe.
