GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley’s Homeless Solutions Department and United Way of Weld County invite the community to the first Night of Remembrance. The event will take place on February 19 from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Gazebo, located at 8th Street and 10th Avenue.

Event Overview

This heartfelt gathering will honor individuals who have passed away while experiencing homelessness. Often, those who pass without housing do not receive a formal farewell. The Night of Remembrance provides a dedicated space for those individuals and allows families, friends and community members to come together and say goodbye.

Key Highlights:

  • Candlelight Vigil: A solemn reading of names to pay tribute to those who have been lost.
  • Guest Speakers: Stories will be shared to celebrate the lives of three valued community members.

“While we celebrate our community programs' successes, acknowledging the ongoing challenges is crucial,” said Mandy Shreve, Homeless Solutions director. “Every life holds value and deserves recognition. Each individual is someone's beloved family member or friend.”

Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly for this outdoor event. Complimentary hot cocoa and apple cider will be available.
