GREELEY, Colo. — The City of Greeley has begun a nationwide search for a full-time City Manager. City Council selected MGT as the national recruitment agency. The recruitment process will allow community members to provide input on candidates.

“The City Council wants to make sure we choose the right person for the City Manager job, someone who will support our community’s best interests and continue to evolve Greeley strategically,” said Mayor Dale Hall.

The search will involve multiple phases, led by the City Council and administered by a dedicated team to ensure an effective search for qualified candidates.

The search process will be divided into four phases:

  1. Establishing Screening Committee & Recruitment Planning
  2. Candidate Screening & Interviews
  3. Community and Employee Engagement
  4. Final Selection & Negotiation

The goal is to appoint a new City Manager in late April or early May 2026. As the hiring process moves forward, the city will share more details about the timeline and ways for the community to be involved. A recruitment website will be built in December to ensure transparency.

City Council appointed Brian McBroom as acting city manager beginning December 3, 2025. McBroom will assist in city operations and provide support while the Council searches for a new City Manager.

McBroom has been with the city since 2023 and brings decades of municipal experience, including almost nine years as City Manager for the City of Commerce City. He holds a degree in sociology, with a focus on urban studies, from the University of Michigan.
