Celebrate the Season at Homesteader’s Holiday at Centennial Village Museum
GREELEY, Colo. – Celebrate the holidays at Centennial Village Museum with a weekend full of festive fun! Join us Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6 for the Homesteader’s Holiday Weekend.
Note: The event dates have changed. The original event was planned for December 6-7, but will now happen on December 5-6 with more activities added.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Friday, December 5, from 4-6 p.m.
Kick off the season with the Centennial Village Tree Lighting, free cocoa and cookies and time to explore the festively decorated village by night.
Help fill the shelves at Weld Food Bank – bring a canned food donation for free admission. Without a canned donation, admission is $4 per person ages 3 and up; children 2 and under are free.
Tales from the Hearth
Friday, December 5, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
After the tree lighting, stay for Tales from the Hearth. This new, interactive storytelling program brings holiday history to life. Step back in time to discover how people celebrated Christmas in the past – from Victorian traditions to the simple ways families kept the holidays alive during hard times.
Tickets are $20 per person and must be purchased in advance through online registration. Recommended for ages 7 and up.
Homesteader’s Holiday at Centennial Village Museum
Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Homesteader’s Holiday is an annual tradition where visitors can spend the day exploring the village’s historical buildings, making seasonal crafts and dipping candles. Enjoy live music, caroling and visits with Cowboy Santa, and shop for handmade gifts and local treasures in the museum gift shop.
