28th Street Closed for Water Line Repairs Between 71st and 65th Avenues

To replace a leaking water line, work crews require the closure of 28^th Street between 71^st and 65^th avenues through this weekend and most of the following week.

After a leak July 20 required a closure, work crews discovered a second leak the next day. After investigation, officials determined the damaged section of pipe needed replacement.

Officials anticipate the closure could last through July 29; however, they do not yet know how long repairs will take.

This construction closure will maintain local access to the closed section of 28^th Street. Officials ask drivers to detour along U.S. 34.
