GreeleyCO.gov, a New Website Built for You

Welcome to the new City of Greeley website. We are currently in a soft launch and are continuing to improve the upgraded site. Thank you for your patience as we work through the final stages of development.

March 18, 2023

As water conservation stewards of Greeley, the Water and Sewer Department encourages Greeley residents to participate in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) national Fix a Leak Week, March 20-26, 2023. The average household's leaks can?account for nearly?10,000 gallons of water wasted yearly; that is the same amount of water it would take to wash 270 loads of laundry or around 10% of your water bill. Greeley residents can avoid many leaks with regular maintenance and by fixing leaks as soon as they are detected.

“Water leak detection is very much like getting a checkup from the doctor,” said Dena Egenhoff, water conservation manager for the City of Greeley. “Do regular checkups on your water pipes and fixtures. Not only can finding a leak save you money, but it can prevent long-term damage to your property. Water leaks never get better—only worse.”

Finding and fixing leaks is as simple as 1-2-3.

  1. Check for leaks
    • Get an automatic notification for leaks by registering for WaterSmart at greeley.watersmart.com
    • If you are going over your water budget in the winter months, you might have a leak.
      • Detect and chase down leaks with WaterSmart tutorials and videos
  2. Fix the leaks you found. Search for DIY videos on YouTube or hire a professional.

  3. Replace fixtures. Greeley offers rebates for toilets and free showerheads. Go to greeleygov.com/rebates to find out more about a $100 rebate for low-flow toilets.
