UCCC Advisory Board Requests Community Input on Renaming Facility

GREELEY, Colo. — The Union Colony Civic Center Advisory Board is asking the community to provide feedback on whether to rename the venue. A survey is now open on the Speak Up Greeley project page for public input.

“The Union Colony Civic Center has a decades-long legacy of bringing top-level entertainment to Greeley,” said Megan Weiler, Cultural Affairs Division Manager. “We’re looking ahead to the future and want to consider how renaming the UCCC could impact its future growth.”

A Growing and Changing Arts Scene

The UCCC has grown significantly since opening in 1988 and so have its offerings. Due to these changes, the UCCC Advisory Board is considering whether a new name would better reflect the facility’s current and future identity. The board will consider the scope of offerings and the UCCC’s role as a cultural and economic driver in the region.

This is not just a renaming project. The board will assess if the current name still aligns with how the community uses and experiences the UCCC. Community feedback is essential to determining whether to pursue a new name.

The Union Colony Civic Center is one of Northern Colorado’s premier performing arts venues. It serves as a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of the Greeley community. The UCCC is proudly owned and operated by the City of Greeley. Since opening in 1988, it has expanded to offer a wide range of performances, events and business activities.
