Legal adviser to the City Council
We strive to provide the highest quality legal representation to the City of Greeley at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayers; to give sound and objective legal advice to City officials and staff; and to act in accordance with the highest ethical and professional standards.
We represent the City of Greeley and act as legal adviser to the City Council, other city officials, and the city departments, boards, and commissions. More specifically, we:
- Prepare and review ordinances, contracts, resolutions, and other legal documents and transactions.
- Protect the City’s legal interests by litigating civil cases in state and federal courts.
- Prosecute traffic, criminal, zoning, water, sanitation, and animal violations in municipal court.
- Provide legal advice and document drafting for City Council, Boards and Commissions, and City Departments.
The City Attorney is appointed by and reports directly to City Council.
