Get a new liquor license for a business, renew an existing liquor license or secure a special event permit to serve alcohol at an event.
Book A New or Transfer Liquor License Appointment
A liquor license appointment is required for all new licenses and transfers to ensuring the correct information is submitted.
Liquor license appointments are available in person or online during the following times:
Monday, Thursday 1:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. (last appointment at 3:15 p.m.)
Tuesday, Wednesday 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. (last appointment at 11:15 a.m.)
Process for Applying for a Liquor License:
- Complete and submit the application documents in full
- Application is reviewed by the City’s Review Team
- Submit Neighborhood’s needs and desires, fingerprints, proof of posting, and other documents that may be requested
- Attend a Liquor License hearing
- Wait for the State’s approval
- Pass final inspection
At your appointment, City Clerk staff will ensure that you have all the required documentation and inform you of the next steps to take. The City Clerk’s Office will only accept complete applications.

Renewing A Liquor License
Renewal applications and any applicable permits are to be submitted no later than 45 days before their expiration.
The City Clerk’s Office will only accept complete renewal applications. City fees must be paid at time of submittal. State fees will need to be paid directly to them as the Clerk’s Office no longer accepts checks on behalf of the State.

Note: The City of Greeley does not offer 2-year renewals.
Special Event Permit
To serve alcohol at a public event please use the special event permit application.
