Two Critically Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash

GREELEY, Colo. – On Monday, July 27, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Greeley Police officers responded to the intersection of 43rd Avenue and 16th Street on reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving two mini dirt-bikes and an SUV.

According to witness reports, the mini dirt-bikes were westbound on 16th Street at a high rate of speed without headlights.

A Toyota RAV4, driven by a 67-year-old Greeley woman, was initiating an eastbound turn onto 16th Street from 43rd Avenue when the unlit dirt-bikes both collided with the driver’s side of the RAV4. The force of the collision resulted in multiple shattered windows and a full airbag deployment within the vehicle.

One rider, identified as a 19-year-old Greeley man, was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition. The other rider, who has yet to be identified, was taken to a Denver hospital and is also in critical condition. The driver of the RAV4 was not injured.
