GREELEY, Colo. — The Greeley Historic Preservation Commissionwill hosta free History Hour event in August at theGreeley History Museum.

On August 20, Jane Watkins, of award-winning stained-glass studioWatkins StainedGlass Studio, will present “Colorado 150 Families:Watkins StainedGlass Legacy with an emphasis on St. Peter Catholic Church, Greeley.”She’llshareher family’s long history of making and repairing stained glass.She’llalso talk about restoring thestainedglasswindows at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Greeley. Visitors will learn how stained glass is made andrestored,andwill get to see examples of their work. The presentation willbeginat noon in the Community Room at the Greeley History Museum,locatedat 714 8th Street.

AboutWatkins StainedGlass Studio

Phil and Jane Watkins runWatkins StainedGlass Studio. Their family has been creating and repairing stained glass since 1761 in England,and in Colorado since 1868. They make stainedglass windows for churches, homes, businesses, and mausoleums. They still use the same methods their family started with in the 1700s. In May 2026, Colorado Preservation, Inc. gave them the Sage Award for their work in preserving historic places in the state.
