West Greeley Citizen Oversight Committee Makes First Formal Recommendation to City Council
GREELEY, Colo. — After six weeks of reviewing project information, asking questions and evaluating potential paths forward, the West Greeley Citizen Oversight Committee has made its first formal recommendation to Greeley City Council.
The committee recommended the city keep looking for a financial partner that can secure better interest rates. The committee also recommended pausing its work. The pause will continue until a potential partner is found and more details are available. More information on updated project costs and economic development projections was also requested. Committee members noted that more discussion would be helpful once the information is available.
The committee’s recommendation was shared with the City Council on June 9. If a financing partner is found, the committee will meet again to evaluate possible next steps.
“Over the past six weeks, this committee reviewed a lot of complex information. They gave it the careful review it deserved,” said Bret Naber, deputy city manager of infrastructure. “Even though members had different opinions about the project, they worked through the facts, listened to one another and found common ground.”
