The City of Greeley recently issued an Initial Statement of Sufficiency for an initiative petition intended to ask City of Greeley voters to repeal Ordinance 15, 2025. The city also received a protest of the initiative petition. Following the submission of the protest, a public hearing process was initiated and took place on Tuesday, August 26.

On Sunday, August 31, Hearing Officer Karen Goldman delivered a final determination that the initiative to repeal Ordinance 15, 2025 was administrative in nature, and therefore the initiative petition was not appropriate. The Hearing Officer overturned the Initial Statement of Sufficiency and finds that the initiated petition is not eligible to be placed on the ballot.
